The metaphor of a journey can help us develop a common language. At Blackhawk, we want to be intentional about each person’s growth. Growth as
a disciple of Christ is a different journey for each person, yet involves the same Biblical steps. Breaking down our spiritual journey into key memorable components gives us a place to start.
It also helps us assess where we are along the way. We can use this tool privately and in our Life Groups (i.e. Blackhawk small groups) to ask, “how are we doing?” We can also use it to help in making
intentional decisions for spiritual growth.

As a church, we seek to encourage each other along this spiritual journey, each one moving toward a deepening relationship with God. Whether by great leaps or small steps of faith, we’re growing to understand and experience the love and grace God has shown us in Christ.

By being intentional in addressing what it means to “know God,” to “follow Christ” and to “make an impact,” we are able to help one another continue growing on the journey. This is our way of describing what it means to be helping one another move toward God. “The Journey” involves one’s whole life, every aspect, at every stage.

We invite you to pray on a regular basis over the ideas laid out in “the Journey.” Ask God to help you become intentional, and take the next step in your journey!
