WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT PRAYER
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Our journey as Christ-followers is only possible because God is working in us by the power of His Spirit. Prayer is our way to communicate with God, listen to Him and walk with Him each day. Prayer is somewhat like “plugging in” to depend on God for our spiritual lives.
There are many opportunities to get involved with prayer at Blackhawk. Praying with others is part of our lives as Christ-followers. We want to grow closer to our God by spending time speaking and listening to Him with others. Whether in a small group, on a service team, through times of solitude or in the prayer room (at the south end of the Atrium), our hope is that an active prayer life would be the norm for every believer.
Blackhawk sends out a weekly Prayer & Praise list by email to alert us to one another’s needs. Contact Alison Haworth if you’d like to receive this by email. You can also pick up printed copies in the Prayer Room (at the south end of the Atrium).
