BOUNDARIES

Boundaries teaches and encourages people to establish and maintain healthy boundaries and margins in relationships, vocation and ministry in order to live from a place of love and freedom rather than from compulsion and overload. The group meets Thursday nights, 6:45-8:45 pm at Blackhawk Brader Way. (Boundaries does not meet in the summer.)

Do you find yourself saying yes when you want to say no? The Boundaries course will teach you to establish and maintain self-defined parameters to encourage a balanced life and healthy relationships.

Boundaries is a video seminar series presented by Christian psychologists and authors Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. There is a small group discussion following each video where you will work through how to apply what you learned to your daily life. The goal of this course is to help you identify a relationship, situation or pattern in your life that isn’t working, give you some tools for implementing change, and provide a place where you can invite God into the process.

Some examples of questions addressed in the series are:

  • Can I set limits and still be a loving person?
  • What can I say to someone who wants my time, love, energy or money?
  • Are boundaries selfish?
  • Why is it difficult for me to hear “no” from people?

Each participant will receive a copy of the book Boundaries and a binder of materials. ($15)
