Elementary Ministries is located on the lower level of Blackhawk Church. When you arrive, our PLANET KID Welcome Team will be there to greet you and answer questions. Every month your child will learn a different virtue that will help them trust God, make wise choices, and treat others the way they would want to be treated. In PLANET KID, our committed, screened, and trained volunteers will help your children take off on their journey towards God.

Partnering with families, PLANET KID seeks to transform kids' lives, through the power of God's love, so they can transform the world. Age-appropriate and fun programming is available during the 9:00 am, 10:45 am and 4:30 pm services. Limited childcare is offered at the 6:00 pm service for parents staying more than one hour because of a class or volunteer commitment. ELEMENTARY MINISTRIES Sunday programming includes:

PLUG IN

Your children will begin their time in small groups with other children their age. They check in with each other about their weeks, meet new kids in their group, and get a “sneak preview — of the day's lesson.

POWER UP

After Plug In, children launch into a meaningful time of worship and teaching in a large group. Our worship leaders engage the children in songs and motions that will get your kids out of their chairs and praising God. Our gifted teachers present Bible lessons that are creative, interactive and relevant.

CATCH ON

In Catch On, your children return to their small groups. During this time, they apply the lesson they learned in Power Up to their own lives. This is a fun time with discussions, crafts, games and prayer. In small groups, your child will build friendships with their adult shepherd and other kids their age.

Our full programming is available at the 9:00, 10:45, and 4:30 service hours.

KID'S FELLOWSHIP

If your family is here for more than one service hour, because of a volunteer commitment or class, your children are invited to participate in Kid's Fellowship. While there, your children will learn about missions and service, have a snack, and take some time just to play and make friends. After you check in at a computer kiosk, see the Children’s Ministries Welcome Center to sign up. Kid's Fellowship is offered at 10:45 AM and 6:00 PM for kids in K-5th grade.

Parent Partners:

We seek to partner with your family on your journey towards God. When you pick up your children from Satellite Time, their small group leader will give you cards to take home so that you can continue talking with them about what they have learned. Also, don't miss our special events designed to help you bond with each of your children.

Every child is created and loved by God. We are excited to have a shadow system that allows children with special needs to participate in PLANET KID. Please let the person at the Welcome Desk know if your child is in need of any special assistance. We would love for you to teach us how to minister to your child. Infants through 5th grade: The lower level of Blackhawk Church is where Children's Ministries meet. Please park in the lower level ramp and enter through the adjoining doors. The PLANET KID Welcome Team will greet and direct you to one of the five computer kiosks to check in your children.

If you are new to Blackhawk, please proceed to the Children's Ministries Welcome Center for assistance. The attendants will provide your family with name tags and claim tags, help you get to the right place, and answer any questions you might have.

If you are needed during the service, a four digit number assigned to your family will appear in the black boxes, located on either side of the screens in all worship venues. If you are called, please proceed downstairs to the Welcome Center with your claim tag for further instruction.
