An assessment tool for married couples
SYMBIS+ is a faith-based marriage assessment that gives couples a personalized roadmap for cultivating a healthy connection by exploring their unique personalities, marriage mindsets, communication styles, money methods, conflict dynamics, and spiritual life practices. Married couples learn about their two “time styles” that can help them move away from feeling overscheduled and under connected and reclaim the moments they have missed together. SYMBIS+ shows a married couple where they stand strongest together and where they might stand apart in order for them to develop more harmony within their relationship.
Through conversation with a certified facilitator, couples can identify next steps that are specific to their relationship and increase connectivity, communication, passion, and teamwork.
The cost of the SYMBIS+ assessment and 90-minute appointment with a certified facilitator is $105. Please complete the SYMBIS+ request form to get started.
LIFE GROUPS FOR RECENTLY MARRIED COUPLES
Each fall, Blackhawk starts up a number of Life Groups that are designed specifically for couples in their first few years of marriage. These groups go through a 12-session marriage curriculum designed to give couples the tools they need to successfully navigate the complexities of marriage. To learn more or to sign up, contact us.
VOW RENEWAL CEREMONY
A vow renewal ceremony serves as an opportunity for a husband and wife to affirm vows of marriage, celebrate and give thanks to God, and recommit to following Christ together. Please complete the vow renewal application to initiate a conversation with Blackhawk about a vow renewal ceremony. Our weddings ministry assistant will then contact you with next steps that include meeting with Pastor of Marriage & Parenting Anne Kierce. Couples who are renewing their vows also participate in the SYMBIS+ assessment and meet with a certified facilitator.
SYMBIS+ Assessment– $105 which covers the cost of the assessment and a meeting with a certified facilitator.
Facility rental fees and pastor honorarium are determined based on ceremony needs, event size, and building usage.
It’s a myth that counseling is only for marriages in trouble. Couples in perfectly healthy marriages regularly meet with counselors to be proactive and to sharpen their communication and conflict-resolution skills. If you think your marriage would benefit from seeing a counselor, check out Blackhawk’s Care Resources.
