Blackhawk’s women’s ministries are designed to help women flourish in every season of life.
Because women need close relationships, support and encouragement to help them grow stronger and healthier in Christ, our ministries offer a variety of places to find these including Encounter Women’s Bible Study, Mom To Mom and various women’s events throughout the year. Contact us to learn more about women’s ministries.
Encounter Women's Bible Study
Encounter God through studying His word with other women. Join us as we dig into the Word together to see what it says, what it means and how we can apply it to our lives. The evening study meets Mondays, 7-8:30 pm, and the morning study meets Wednesdays, 9-11 am (childcare available). Encounter meets September through early May.
While Christians affirm that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, we struggle to think of him as a person. This fall, we will study eight word pictures of the Holy Spirit from Scripture and discover how our relationship with and understanding of the third person of the Trinity can deepen.
Then starting in January, we will study the Old Testament book of Hosea. In Hosea’s unfailing love for his wayward wife, we see God’s unconditional love for his covenant-breaking people. This story is a reminder that God desires to restore his people to a right relationship with Himself.
Every fourth or fifth week we break from new lessons and engage in Reflect and Respond (R&R) time in small groups. This time involves application of the prior lessons’ main texts and often includes sharing of personal information. As a result, we request that new women not attend their first meeting on an R&R day so that they have an opportunity to be integrated into the group beforehand.
R&R Days (the days to avoid attending for your first time)
AM Encounter: October 23, December 4, February 5, March 18, April 29
PM Encounter: October 21, December 2, February 3, March 16, April 27

Mom To Mom
Mom to Mom is a community of mothers that provides opportunities for women to form supportive relationships during the years of parenting young children. Women are nurtured as mothers and Christ-followers so they can nurture others. Mom to Mom offers speakers, mentors and small groups for moms of children from pregnancy through pre-K.
Groups meet 9-11 am every other Thursday during the school year to hear a speaker or for a special event. Childcare is available for infants through preschool-aged children*. Other opportunities for connection and community-building are offered throughout the year. Fall sessions of Mom to Mom will begin September 12 and 19.
NEW THIS YEAR
When registering you can select either Brader Way or Fitchburg for your large group location. The Fitchburg group will meet at Brader Way until early 2020 when the new Fitchburg location is up and running. Both large groups are open to women from all church sites. If you need to select a group preference based on your schedule/availability, please view the Mom to Mom 2019-2020 calendar to see meeting dates for both groups.
*While new moms are welcome to join any time during the season, please note that children over six months must be registered in advance in order to attend childcare rooms. Register online prior to attending a meeting to begin the process of securing childcare. Children will secure spots in childcare rooms in the order that they are registered. In the event that childcare rooms are at capacity, registrants will be alerted and children will be waitlisted. Any children/participants waitlisted prior to the start of the season will be notified about whether spaces have become available by September 9.

Women's Fall Retreat
Friday, October 4, 6:30 pm-Saturday, October 5, 4:30 pm
The Fall Retreat is an annual opportunity to step away from the busyness of our lives; a place for slowing down, community building with other women and renewing our connection with the living God. This year we will get away overnight (October 4-5) to Covenant Harbor Retreat Center in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Our time together will be filled with food, laughter, worship, and plenty of reflection as we contemplate Romans 12:1-2 and what it means to be transformed and renewed as we offer our lives to God in response to his love. We hope you will join us!
We don’t want money to prohibit any woman from participating. Please complete this form to inquire about a potential partial scholarship. All requests are confidential.
Due to the use of an outside facility, we are not able to add late registrations or give refunds for cancellations after September 17.
Childcare is not provided and children (regardless of age) are not able to be accommodated.
SAVE THE DATE: Blackhawk Church invites you to attend IF:Madison West 2020 on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14, 2020.
