According to Cancer.org, one of every three women and one of every two men have the risk of developing cancer in their lifetime. Cancer Care at Blackhawk desires to provide spiritual care and a supportive community to those with cancer, who face specific challenges in their relationship with God and with their loved ones, encouraging them to persevere in their faith and be witnesses to God’s presence in their lives.
During the 2016/2017 ministry year, the Care Ministry will explore a broader responsive cancer care ministry to include women, men, caregivers and families. If you have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis or would like to consider serving people and families battling cancer, please share your thoughts, ideas, concerns and needs by contacting Sandra Malone at email@example.com. Although still to be determined, Cancer Ministry training may be offered and required for people interested in serving in this future ministry.
Cancer Care for Women is not meeting at this time, but you can contact our First Response Team for cancer support. They can generally be reached Monday-Thursday, 11 am – 3 pm at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 608.828.4230. Schedules may vary, so please feel free to leave a message.
