Our ministry is a fun place for children, birth through sixth grade, to GROW SPIRITUALLY as they learn who God is and how much He loves them. Children and volunteers CONNECT RELATIONALLY in small groups where each child can feel safe, cared for and known.
Children’s programming is provided at all Blackhawk Church services except for 6 pm at Brader Way. For your child’s safety, each child is issued a nametag for secure drop off and pick up. In addition, Blackhawk Church screens all our staff and volunteers and we maintain appropriate child/adult ratios in each classroom. If your child needs you during the service, a unique number will appear on a nanny light in the venue.
WHAT CHILDREN ARE LEARNING
Birth to Pre-K
Our nursery offers children birth through 18 months a secure and nurturing place filled with care. A gentle Bible curriculum is used to give children a glimpse of God’s love for them. For preschoolers, 18 months through five years, we use storytelling and hands-on learning focused on three foundational truths: God created you, God loves you, and Jesus wants to be your forever friend. Children experience these truths through the care and relationships they develop in our playful environments.

Kindergarten to Fourth Grade
Kindergarten through fourth grade uses engaging teaching, interactive worship, and small groups to focus on three basic truths: I can trust God no matter what, I need to make the wise choice, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated. Our fun environments provide a place for students to explore and deepen their understanding of who God is and their relationship with Him.

Fifth and Sixth Grade – offered September through May
Our fifth and sixth grade small groups dig deeper in the Bible together and focus on three basic truths: God cares, I’m made in the image of God and God invites us to include one another. Students will have a chance to worship with adults in a main venue before small group time. From there they will participate in team building games and fun activities to reinforce each week’s lesson.
Sixth grade students are strongly encouraged to get involved with Middle School Home Groups during the week.
