Architect's drawing of the new Blackhawk Church building

Imagine how...

Imagine how God will use Blackhawk’s new building to further His kingdom - in the Madison area, and around the world…

Some quick facts about what our new location will bring:

  • Two worship spaces seating 450 and 800
  • A large atrium/lobby with many connecting spaces
  • A coffee shop and resource center incorporated into the atrium
  • Flexible classroom settings for groups of 12-80
  • A gymnasium and locker rooms
  • A family entrance to the lower level with covered parking
  • Plenty of parking on site!

It’s about connecting.
Blackhawk’s new building will offer the space people need to stop and talk and connect. Whether it’s in the coffee shop or in one of the clusters of comfy chairs scattered around the building, people can spend time talking or praying together…building community.

It’s about growing.
There will be many flexible spaces for various sizes and kinds of classes and workshops; and smaller spaces for one-to-one ministry or counseling. With classroom dividers and ready technology for larger groups, we will be able to host various opportunities for seminars, classes, etc.

It’s about families.
The new Early Childhood Ministry area offers exciting and flexible classroom space. Both large and small rooms will provide space for a variety of experiences for our little ones. Clear check-in areas and procedures will provide safety for our children.

The Elementary Ministry area is designed with children and volunteers in mind. Two large-group areas will allow both early-elementary and upper-elementary large group time, with developmentally appropriate programs for each. In addition, the abundance of small-group spaces will help keep our class sizes small, so volunteers can always provide that personal touch.

The new Student Ministry (High School and Middle School) space will provide greater flexibility in scheduling relevant programs that help to reach the community of students across the Madison area. The flexible break-out spaces will allow Blackhawk’s student ministries to host small groups, such as study sessions or life groups, while the gym and shower facilities make it possible to host larger outreach events.

It’s about our vibrant young people.
The new building will give the College/20-somethings Ministry space that feels intimate, but that can adapt as the ministry grows. The design of the new space will communicate what the ministry strives to be: relevant and real to people wherever they are on their journey—a place where it is easy to connect and feel at home.

It’s about reaching.
We are creating a building that will be an extension of the community around it, allowing us to use our facilities and resources to serve the community. Our building will work as “home base” for our local outreach and global missions, and will make it easier for us continue to “reach our community.”
