Global and National Partnerships
- Food for the Hungry
Food for the Hungry is a Christian organization seeking to end all forms of human poverty by going into the hard places and closely walking with the world’s most vulnerable people. They have been working in Bolivia since 1978. Chronic malnutrition is a primary concern in Bolivia, especially for children. One of the ways Food for the Hungry addresses this is through the construction of neighborhood nutritional centers. At these nutrition centers, Food for the Hungry staff will work with expectant mothers and families with young children by providing cooking classes, basic health and nutrition attention, and nutritional counseling. Blackhawk has been invited by Food for the Hungry to come alongside the community of Lajastambo in Bolivia. We are aligned with Food for the Hungry to engage relationally with people in the community of Lajastambo through short-term teams and child sponsorship. When church members take part in child sponsorship, they are enabling Food for the Hungry staff to make regular home visits with parents and advise them on meeting their children’s physical, spiritual and emotional needs.
- Amor, Fe y Esperanza (AFE)

Alpha y Omega is a growing church of approximately 60 members in Orica, Honduras. The church helps Orica and uses their love, compassion, prayers and ingenuity to positively influence the community. The church has seen incredible growth of those coming to Christ and those growing deeper in faith. While they are about the gospel and making disciples, they know that both word and deed are necessary in loving and reaching a community. For over 12 years, Blackhawk has partnered with Alpha y Omega Church and the city of Orica. We have been in relationship, prayer and engaged with them through many initiatives including: construction of a community playground, medical and dental clinics, training of church leadership, marriage training and clean water supply, relationships with the school principal and holistic efforts to assist schools.
