SERVEServing can look like a lot of things: directing traffic on Sundays before services, coaching your daughter’s soccer team, or even traveling halfway across the world to help a global neighbor in a time of crisis. At Blackhawk, we hope to be a community that equips each person to do the work of ministry. We seek to be a diverse community of people who have discovered their gifts, awakened their passions, and joined together to participate in God’s purposes in our world. We long to develop generous hearts where Christ’s commitment to love and serve others is valued and practiced by everyone. We hold selfless, humble service of the poor and hurting in our city and world as a high ideal. We seek to be people who freely release resources for God’s redemptive work. On these pages, you’ll discover opportunities to serve – in the church, in the community, and in the world. Discover Serving
Finding Your Niche is a four-week workshop designed to help you discover your spiritual gifts, temperament and passion for ministry. It is offered several times during the year during one of the worship hours on Sundays. At the end of the workshop, you will have the option of talking with a member of the Connections Team, who will help you find a place in the church with potential for God to work in and through you. Please contact Becky Riedel for more information. The Connections Team provides consultations to help you find the place in the church where it seems most likely for God to work in and through the unique person He's designed you to be. Consultations are simply one-on-one conversations with trained Connections Team members about who you are, what opportunities for growth and service exist at Blackhawk, and how you want to proceed in getting connected. Connections consultations work best when you come to the conversation with some knowledge of your spiritual gifts and temperament. To schedule a consultation, email Nancy Lindroth. |
