Parking
There are a few free parking options available Downtown on Sundays. We recommend the Grainger School of Business Parking Ramp, just two blocks away from the Upper House building. Upon entrance you will receive a pre-paid ticket which you can scan upon exiting. Street parking is also always free on Sundays. Additionally there are several pay-on-exit ramps available on Lake Street as well as an underground, heated ramp directly underneath Upper House.
Worship Services
Worship services are located inside Upper House on the second floor. Each service starts with live worship and a host, followed by watching a live stream of the message from our Brader Way location. When you arrive you will find greeters and ushers ready to help you find a seat.
Kids & Families
Blackhawk Kids programming for birth to sixth grade is offered at the 9 AM service hour.

Kids birth to sixth grade are welcome in any of our venues, or they can attend Blackhawk Kids where they will have a worship service that’s made just for them. To check out Blackhawk Kids, head to the BKids welcome desk in the back hallway and a welcome team will be ready to help you register and find your rooms. We also offer a Family Room where you can watch a live stream of the service, with space for you and your family to move around as much as needed.

College-Age (CAM)
CAM is a diverse family of 18-25 year olds. We typically meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM at Upper House.

Adam Penning

From different parts of Iowa, Adam and Alicia met after college in 2001 as missionaries in Fortaleza, Brazil. They have 3 kids, Marguerite, Will, and Charlie. They previously lived in Madison for 12 years, leading with Cru at the University of Wisconsin while attending and serving in the Blackhawk community. Before joining Blackhawk staff, Adam and Alicia spent five years living in the heart of New York City’s Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen. There he served as the Cru Campus Ministry Director for the New York City Metro Area.

Adam received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University with a BFA in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking. He earned his Masters of Arts – Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary-NYC as well as a certificate of Practical Ministry through the Redeemer City-To-City Ministry Program in New York. Adam enjoys good food, moderate exercise, the outdoors, swimming, reading, making music with friends, working with his hands, and goofing off with his kids.
