ADVENT CONSPIRACY

Each year Blackhawk takes part in a nation-wide movement called Advent Conspiracy. We encourage each other to give one less present at Christmas and instead give that money toward out Advent Conspiracy projects, to assist people trapped in poverty and need around the world and right here in Madison.

God sent Jesus to give hope to those who have no hope, to all who are in spiritual and physical poverty and oppression. That’s the original story of Christmas. We want to realign with the mission and meaning of this holiday, taking it back from consumerism to generosity and from commercialism to Christ. This year we want to Give Hope.

  • The Offering: An offering was taken in services on December 18 and over $351,000 has been donated for this year’s projects. Thank you to all who have given so generously!

  • The Movement: Advent Conspiracy is more than just Blackhawk. Watch the video below or visit adventconspiracy.org to learn more about what others are doing across the nation.
